                No, we have a big burn pit on the side of the area where the remnants of one of the ancient homes that used to be in our backyard are located. We keep tossing in leaves and other 'natural garbage' to make the yard level again. I generally don't burn anything except paper and similar materials, and even some of that eventually becomes soil.  
About a mile just east of here, they have a recycling site. They are skilled at sorting metals, and they earn money by selling the sorted materials to larger recycling facilities.

                Does this ceremonial burning include flammable liquids? Also, be very careful about breathing in any fumes - burning plastic & components are not good for your lungs. Write on!
