I find that it varies the amount of sleep seniors need. My grandmother could do eight hours a night. She lived to 76. My mother is 68 and tends to go for about 10. Eight hours are overnight. The rest comes from her napping.

Help! I have about nine hours on average. Although I guess I work quite hard at times.

My B.I.L sleeps 23 hours My sister sleeps about 14 hours but she cannot sleep at night much. Old uns used to sleep quite a lot when they retired, sitting before the fire nodding off. I think you need at least nine hours because you are under stress. I wrote this yesterday but it just disappeared. I hope this makes it. Try not to worry I know it is hard not too, but it does drain ones ability to make it. You have at least another ten years  to feel like a woman. . 🌺🌺

I read that Florence Nightingale got by on 4 hours of sleep every night. I believe each person has their own sleep cycle that works for them. I do okay on 6 hours, and my hubby has existed on 2 to 3 hours when working doubles at the steel mill. I have never understood people who sleep all day, and I have never been fortunate enough to sleep an 8-hour night uninterrupted. My bladder simply will not allow it. Thinking smile

When I worked I got by or 4-6 hours a night. I’ve always been a night person and in a day world it was a challenge. Now, I love it that I can sleep about 7 hours. Of course the past 6 months have been “sleep when I can.” Very hard at times. Hope you are getting some rest.

Sometimes being tired is because of stress and not just the number of years we've been here. The correct amount of sleep is whatever it takes to let you wake up feeling rested, an opinion based on absolutely no scientific info or medical knowledge.  Peace!

Kabu......

......Most of my life I have not needed more than five  hours sleep a night and was very active.  Even at my age now, five hours still seems to be enough if I add in an afternoon nap which is more due to physical tiredness than need for sleep.....but everyone has different needs.
