Is there any way that the washing machine could be moved upstairs to avoid the constant trips up and down, especially carrying loads of towels?

The four seasons room sounds like the perfect location for the two of you to lounge, especially this time of year. I find plants and flowers to be calming, and they are healthy to breathe in. I did some pruning today, but this year we planted less in pots and more in the ground for future years to enjoy. My lilac is leafy, but no buds so far. Gardening is therapeutic, so enjoy your potting. 🌼

It sounds like you are an excellent planner. Praying for your strength and patience with Jim. Keep looking to the future when all this work becomes only a passing memory.

My dad has one of those chairs that lifts him into a standing position. He loves it.

It's the watering that gets to my gardens every summer, or I should say, the not watering. Most of the plants on the deck are under cover, so have to be watered by hand-carried bottles of water that only go so far; three fill-ups is the usual to get them all good and wet.Â
In that covered area I had pretty chairs that were not actually all that comfortable, so I went to the local Habitat for Humanity thrift shop and got a nice, good-condition smallish recliner and put it out there where even blowing rain doesn't reach it. I spend lots more time on the deck in comfort! I don't know what your possibilities are, but maybe something like that could be arranged for Jim?
