Re: Re: CCT

So true. But this was one time your parents might have wanted to step in and help. Or comfort you. 🌹

Re: Sherri

I don't think a teacher would get away with it today, but that was then. 🦋

Re: SG

There are always some with a vicious mentality.  I hid it from my parents . I did not want to upset them.🌺

Violence begets violence… I’m so sorry you experienced this atrocity. And here you were, just about to defend yourself from another lad. A double pity. 🌹🤗

It's a damn shame that brutal punishment is inflicted on one human by another, whether it be from war or an angry teacher or parent, violence is and has never been the answer to fixing an issue. Sad smile

yes, things have changed and for the better. I thought they had years ago when my old men [sons} were at school. The eldest used to get a belting I discovered one year and I was down the street to the school so fast I nearly ran over myself. I was furious. The worst was, the teacher fooled around with the kids and then when they wouldn't settle down, he would thrash the boys with his belt!!

Reading your poem makes me think about how things have changed when it comes to wartime. For us in America, during my lifetime, war has not changed our day-to-day lives too much. Gone are the days of rationing during World War II.
