Oh, geez, John has that same alarm clock. He needs it to be loud after working doubles, so he doesn't miss his next shift. One thing is for sure: it works as advertised.

I'd happily take a hammer to it!
I use the Amazon Echo, the simplest one, and just verbally tell it when to wake me, remind me, or alarm me that something is cooked. Then I tell it to adjust the volume so I can't miss or ignore it.

I would move the clock farther away. Sadly it is too easy to sleep away the day.
Could you not make Jim walk around somewhere safe every two hours?
I feel like going to sleep quite often but I try not to. Hope you can work something out.

Yes, I would definitely find another solution. I have a flip-timer on my cell phone. It is a free app that anyone can download. It is easy to set and move around.

You have a right to decide how much aggravation you're willing to put up with. Next garbage collection day, take the clock into the other room. Tell him you're going to clean it Then, toss it in the trash and giggle to yourself as the truck picks it up and drives away. When he asks where his clock is, shrug your shoulders and deny ever seeing it. Suggest that he must be imagining things.
