Re: Kabu

Amen. My father taught me many things that changed my outlook on life. In fact, my first big "hit" book was "Things My Father Taught Me - Lessons in Life." I may post it here tomorrow.

One of the other things Dad taught me was to live my life and my religious beliefs. People will look at how you live and know 'this person is living his/her religious beliefs. He said, "Don't talk about your beliefs. LIVE THEM." I try to live my beliefs. There's too much talking some days... and it's better to show how you believe in how you live your life.

When we first got together, my wife Lisa was a wildcat, but slowly, she calmed down and lived her life the way she should. It makes a difference when your life stabilizes and you realize there is a higher power than us.

Re: Pat

LOL. My father had a problem with people stealing milk out of the big tank we had in an office next to the bar. I would milk the cows and then run the milk through a strainer to filter out all kinds of stuff you didn't want in your milk.

Dad had an idea to stop it. He hand-painted a sign that read:

IF YOU ARE FOUND HERE AT NIGHT, YOU WILL BE FOUND HERE IN THE MORNING.
IF YOU NEED HELP WITH GETTING SOME MILK... ASK ME, DON'T STEAL IT.

It worked, It turns out a neighbor lady needed milk for her family. Dad told her, "If you ever need anything, don't steal it. Ask me. He told me to draw down two gallons of milk for her (I knew how to get the milk without contaminating the tank. He told her to come back any time she needed milk and ASK. We have plenty, and we will share it. He also gave her about twenty pounds of hamburger in smaller amounts to feed her kids.

I suppose that is where I learned compassion for people. I saw my father give away all kinds of things. I have another story inside my book, "I Remember Judy," where he taught me a valuable lesson the hard way. It affected me for the rest of my life.

dear friend as I have said before, I have an extremely deep faith in my God and my life is in his/her hands .However I don't go to Church. I don't belong in a Church for many reasons I just don't belong there.

I had a little hand-lettered sign that I posted just below my front doorbell. "If you are uninvited and unexpected, you are also unwelcome."  These days my little sign says "No solicitors. My dog has a gun and knows how to use it." Don't know if such a thing would help your situation, but please make use of these if you wish. Hope you catch up before sundown.
