I think North East would be a better choice - maybe more north than you are planning. 😉I know it can't happen, but it would have been great.

I'm guessing you're not heading for Colorado on your excursion - but if you do, don't forget your scarf and mittens. Saw a weather forecast for snow in the higher elevations there.

Mr. Graysome is pampered as he should be. Animals indeed experience anxiety when they see changes like packing suitcases for trips. My parents are preparing to fly from Nevada to Pennsylvania this week, and her two dogs have been acting up. They know something is going on because they have been watched by the dogsitter for the past two vacations that they took. Enjoy your road trip.
