That is how I would be if I had a pet as well. I cannot imagine leaving a part of the family behind.

Good Morning
Kabu, I can understand why you were so sad. We are animal lovers and would take care of Sadie no matter what happened. Sadie doesn't like lightning and thunder much less a hurricane. I'm glad we live where we do. Although we do get tornadoes. I saw a lot of videos over the past few days with people carrying their dogs and cats. I believe pets are family.

Cat news Parker the cat.
Of course the cat I now look after was a stray a very wild and aggressive beast.I don't know if she escaped from somewhere because her ears had a V cut in them and I was told that it was because she had been to a vet and had been treated to become kitten-less.
Surprisingly as we know cats are survivors I cannot treat her as a house cat because
she is quite nervous but extremely fussy and rushes indoors every morning I am going to make her a nest in an old armchair although she can go in the greenhouse through a hole
and the greenhouse will be heated slightly throughout the winter🌺🌺Give Jim a kiss from Parker.

As an animal lover, I completely understand how seeing that poor dog affected you. Witnessing suffering of any kind is hard on the hearts of people who have empathy, compassion, and regard for how precious life is, and just how fast it can end.

Harm to animals in such extreme situations is almost a foregone conclusion. It is possible his owner was injured and couldn't get out there to release his pet - but still, it's very sad. I am keeping fingers crossed for everyone who was in the path of either Helene or Milton - what a hellish mess it is. I hope hurricane season is over for the year - and those of us in the Midwest don't get any such extremes. Have a great day!
