Good morning
I would say that your exceptional hearing is indeed a blessing to you and those around you who you protect. I'm not good with loud noises which is funny because I used to blast my stereo.

It is indeed a blessing for you to have hyperacusis. Many loud sounds hurt my ears to the point where sitting in a movie theatre is uncomfortable. When I got my job one had to pass a physical that included a hearing test. (I was long ago in the Dark Ages.) The tech was shocked that I could hear sounds that people normally don't hear so I know what you mean. Worst of all when I would be at work and I'd hear conversations far off that I really didn't want to hear! But like you said, there are good things about it as well.
