No sweet corn....
It isn't ripe yet the corn itself is still growing in the husks but it won't be long. My goodness but it is tall and beautiful this year. I Love how they have made beautiful ponds of water in so many of the fields. Then their is tree shelter in a couple of places and even with not always much land, they grow these huge crops. I missed my Dad as we drove, what a wonderful experience with someone who was a real farmer. People used to growl saying my Dad had the best land in the district. Dad said to that."what Rubbish. They rush their crops in I take care of my stock and my land and always have one paddock resting...no crop on it for a year. Then the sheep manure was a big help all over the farm as well.
Of course the fencing was always A. 1. as well, so no sheep or cattle could go a-roaming. Not just saying this because he was my Dad, he had a name for being the best and his crop prices and wool prices showed how well the farm was run.
I so much enjoyed the travelling we just experienced; and it made me think of farming days. A really busy life if you want to do it the correct way, but if you own the land and over and up here many places had the big house and a couple of smaller places. Either workman's cottages or sons or a daughter. They will be placed together and possibly in front of the original small farm house that is empty now. lots of company for each other.

Good afternoon
I saw photos of you and yours visiting that awesome building. Road trips are fun, but there is no place like home. Hopefully, you brought some of those big ears of sweet corn home with you. 🌽🚗
