Immigration did change a lot of nations in the 1940s after World War II. In America's case, we are a melting pot.

Good evening
That is a really neat history. I have seen photos of Australia. It is beautiful. My ancestors come from various parts of England, Scotland, and Ireland. And, because of your post, I was reminded to go and check my ancestry.com account to see if I have kin in Australia, and I do. They are located primarily in the Australian Occidental and the Capital Territory. Maybe they are some of the ones who moved away from Britain to the Land Down Under.

Any of my friends who went to visit Down-Under really loved the country and the people there. Pretty amazing when we think of South American early peoples making it there, although maybe the distance between the two countries had less water at the time?

Love the Aussie accent! I've always thought the open spaces of Australia were a lot like the old west of the USA. The ranchers raised cattle, they dealt with nature. Except here in the northern hemisphere we missed out on the kangaroos...
