Re: Pat

We are kind of conditioned to an easy way of living if one can afford it. If we saw a hen that

looked iffy, we would kill it and then break a leg the butcher must have thought it was not

very safe for hens in our fields. 🌺🌺🌺

Re: Good afternoon Sherri

I think Sherri that the best days though harsh at times have gone forever.🌺🌺

Re: Kabu

Funny how one really looked forward to such times. My sister always , well never forgot

my brother wrapping up a cockerel's head and putting in her stocking.🌺🌺

My grandfather would not have minded bunny for supper. He would eat squirrel. My grandmother would fix it for him. He was a hunter. The rest of the family passed.

you make me think of days long gone, two little girls living on a farm and helping mummy to pull the feathers from the Turkey hen, getting ready for Christmas. We used to get one gift and a stocking filled with goodies; nothing like what kids get today.

Good afternoon

Those were the days that I wish would come back around. Times are changing too fast with traditions getting lost in the shuffle.

A good man, a soft touch, always treasured, Christmas or otherwise.

I remember when Mama would bake one of our hens if it quit laying. She was a good cook, and baked all of our bread - nothing like it in the stores. Have a cozy day.
