Oh, thank you, adnohr, for reminding me how I had misplaced my sense of compassion in this post. Yes, as someone who always used every sick day available I should have at least thought of people who have none and become ill. He was clearly too sick to be at work. Actually, there were a few times I went to work like that. Once the boss sent me home! I was so happy to get home and be able to be sick in bed. 🤣

Sometimes this country makes me really angry, as angry as I get with Australia where employees keep people for years on part time so they don't have to pay for sick leave. Please I pray you don't come down with this.

Unfortunately many workplaces do not offer pay for sick leave.WIth the cost of living today, and the salaries paid in service jobs, some employees will feel they have no choice but to work anyway, just because they cannot afford to lose those wages. I imagine the person who was sick would much rather be in bed at home too.

That's a great question as to why people go out when they are sick. You writing about that reminds me of the time my mother got Ann and I food from a Hardee's. When we picked up the food, Mom would not let us eat it because the guy had cuts all over his hands. Ann and I were little kids and were quite fussy because we were hungry. I can look back and say Mom did the only right thing.

Sea Gypsy, It's a shame that people don't stay home from work when they are sick. I have no idea what they are thinking. I would have been very upset by the whole experience. The brown lettuce would have probably finished me off. I'm sending blessings for you to stay healthy. I made sausage gravy and biscuits for breakfast this morning and after reading your post I'm thankful that I did.
