Re:

First, my deepest sympathies and condolences for the loss of your brother in such a tragic way! And how wonderful of you to respect your mother's wishes and pursue a different career than that which you had wanted. We are glad you are here and I'm certain that your mother was very happy with your decision. It takes a lot to be a figher pilot, that's for sure! Blessings for your brother and your mother. Red heart

I

Did you know…. It was my lifelong ambition to become a jet fighter pilot. My elder brother who was in the Indian Air Force, as trainee, died of a crash because the engine burst min air at 4500 ft. My mother never let me. … and that’s how I’m here.

I'm so glad I don't have to ride on one of those.  They are exciting to watch once in a while.

Several years ago I was at White Sands National Park which is tucked in with an Air Force missile range all around it. There was a moment when one of those big black delta-wing stealth jets flew over very low! That was impressive!

They sound like a sight and sound to behold. I had never heard of them.

Good morning

They are awesome to watch and even more so when you can capture them on camera. Being an ex-military family, back in the day, we were treated to daily air shows from those amazing fighter jets. My dad worked at the Nevada testing range for Lockheed Martin where those fighter jets did regular bombing tests near Area 51. You could feel their rumble from miles away, and my hubby was a jet mechanic in the Navy in Virginia Beach, VA. The F-16s were a big deal back then in the 80s. You could hear them coming from miles away. I can't even imagine what a F-35 can do. As you stated, it's like an F-16 on steroids. Regular smile

One almost wonders how the pilots cope, I suppose a lot is pre-installed

Nevertheless, it is not like strumming a guitarRed rose

That's quite an air show. I hope it was a training exercise.

There's an Air Force base about 30 miles from here, and once in a blue moon there'll be a fly-over that can rattle the windows. And the flight path from points east to St. Louis' airport is nearby - but nothing like an F-35 at low altitude.
