We have four seasons here, but they are different than the seasons further north. It does get cold here, especially in January and the first two weeks of February. The temps can get into single digits on some nights. I take a blood thinner and feel pain when I get cold. Given the choice of being too hot vs. cold, I can handle the heat much easier than the cold.
If I had to work here, that's one thing, but being retired, I can afford to wait the heat out and for cooler times of the day.
I'll admit, this type of weather isn't for everyone.

Phew!.. and all you write here is why I would never willingly live where you are. I like my four seasons, but even more so; my back kills me in such wet humidity and heat.
