Good afternoon
This is such a sweet memory. Those hardwood floors are rough on the back. You were a wise young lady.

Overall, it has been mild on the heat, which is a good thing due to the drought.

It is hot here, but the main thing is one has to keep watering the garden. I am glad I
told Archie that he could have the two hundred dahlias as he has to look after them.
It seems funny the plants do not seem to grow like they used to, but then we had
rain every other day. I would write longer but I keep falling asleep, If I were a parrot
I would have fallen off my perch by now.

Still have no AC here, but it is rare it gets unbearably hot. I have a fan running even during the winter in my bedroom, as much for white noise than anything else. It has been much warmer the past 2 days, but the smoke from the forest fires are the most troubling at the moment. I won't complain about the week of rain predicted if it can in any way help those firefighters who are getting no break at all.

Good Morning
Kabu, I'm very thankful for the air conditioning. When we were growing up we did not have air conditioners. I remember some really hot summers. The years we lived in Arkansas were not good. It was too hot. I have a friend that still lives there and it's going to be 110 in the shade there today. I had the air on yesterday because the humidity was so high and when I turned the air on the house was perfect for us. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday! Stay cool!

My dad was not a cat man. He loved his doggy. The cat had to just go to the basement via the cellar door and was not allowed in the house. Most people I knew had dogs for pets and the alley cats would fight and yawl at night. Quite different than now.

I grew up before air conditioning - but we didn't need it much
in the mountain foothills where we were around 100 miles from the Pacific coast with its cool moist breezes. Moved to the Midwest - about a hundred miles east of Omaha - where humidity and heat can wear a person down in 5 minutes during the summertime. Didn't have a/c there until the 1960s when Fang, the kids and I would sleep with big box fans pulling the air through the house and out the windows. So thankful for air conditioning these days.
