The pic isn't showing for me...
I hope Lisa continues to feel better. Any word on your surgery yet?

LOL. I got ya! I've lost a lot of weight since that photo was taken seven years ago. I had also lost a wife the slow-motion way. It took a heavy toll on me emotionally and physically. I grew sadder by the day, and no one was reaching out to me. I was ready to end it all. Seriously.
I had gotten a note from Lisa, and when I responded, I didn't hear anything back for over a week, and I thought her note to me was a "one and done" message. I was ready to die when she called me to say she had gone off with her family and hadn't taken her cell phone. That it was a miracle from God was very clear to me. Since that day, my life has become a joyous event. I am happy again, and I feel the love my wife gives me. My heart is full, and so is my spirit.
Thank you!

Re: Confusion Solved?
My confusion was who was who. That person on the right doesn't look like you to me. You've changed in a lot of ways sine the 1980's (but then again, so have I, LOL).

Confusion Solved?
Ron Flinn is a very dear friend of mine. I worked with him as his right-hand-man at Crystal Motor Speedway for 34 years. Before that, I knew him, but I was working the day in 1985 when his namesake son was brought into the Emergency Room, dead. I comforted him and his wife while they were in the ER. My background in handling grief was well tasked that day.
The semi "official" word was that he had committed suicide, but I also worked as the nurse on hand during his autopsy, and his body had been brutally beaten. There were bruises everywhere. It was my job to help him, but that sad event made us life-long friends.
If you look closely at my legs, you can see they are loaded with extra fluid as my lungs filled due to my heart being unable to handle the blood coming into them for reoxygenation. My lungs were filled with fluid, but my legs also were backed up because the heart was not working properly.
You may have heard of CHF or congestive heart failure. It is broken down into two types. Right side CHF, where the right side of the heart is backed up. With Right side CHF, you have a problem breathing, but you are still moving around. In left side CHF, the back of fluid floods the lungs and gradually backs up into the lower legs and hips. This is an example of classic left-side CHF. My calves are HUGE due to the amount of fluid being retained.
By Christmas, some three months later, I was almost unable to walk anymore because I couldn't breathe. Going into the surgery on 2.3.16, I was given a 5% chance of surviving. As I told the doctor when he told me my odds, "NEVER BET AGAINS THE FAT MAN."
By the time they did the surgery, it had put so much pressure on my aortic artery it had developed a HUGE bulge and was about to blow out. He was filming an episode of his hit TV show, "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter," when he left the set to go to the ER. The big fancy ER in Los Angeles completely and totally missed his abdominal aneurysm, and he died 19 hours after checking in.
I was unconscious for eight days after the surgery; after a four-hour surgery went ten hours, and they couldn't stop my bleeding. I wrote a short story about that event here.
I hope this clears things up!

I'm confused, who is Ron Flinn? You talk about your legs. Is that you incognito?
