Re Pat

As one becomes older one is perhaps more sensitive to the way plants have

developed in order to survive. I only use chemicals as the last resort and then only

those that are animal and child safe.Thank you.

Re: Kabu

Yes you could look up the ones dangerous to cats. Some are benign to humans but

deadly to animals, it always makes me shudder when I see a woman with children

buying plants that are not really suitable. Also some bunches of flowers, we only

grow safe varities although Archie will sometimes pot up an odd plant that has

seeded and I tell him it is not really suitable. No charge for this extra long

comment.

I have removed many of the flowers here except for the black eyed susan, because i didn't know if they were safe for Graysome. He loves time in the back yard through the summer. Now i have fresh plants mostly in pots.

Good morning

Knowing the difference between toxic flowers and the safe ones are important when you have fur baby pets or visitors. I have heard that Ivy is deadly to cats.

One of my favorite mystery series, book and TV show, was about an herbalist monk in the time of the English civil war between Maud and Steven. The monk, Cadfael was played by Derek Jacobi. It just about always involved herbs and weeds of dubious character.

I think your knowledge of flowers and potential toxic issues is amazing.
