- Go to The Beethoven Challenge - Did He Get Coffee-Making Right?
Hi Sea Gypsy,
Nice to meet you as well! I found this post quite interesting and entertaining. Beethoven is one of my favourite ever composers! Now whenever I sip my coffee, I'll think of him!

Probably the most brilliant composer the World has ever seen; for my European ears anyway, could also make a perfect cup of coffee. Well who knew!

Goodness you have got the answer. I am afraid I could never find the patience to experiment. I do know how long to soak a tea bag though. It just sounds a bit weak to make such a claim after reading your experience.

Beethoven knew his music and his coffee. Fascinating.

Beethoven was a genius in more ways than one!
I'm happy to hear that something that I posted turned out favorably.

Good morning
I have to laugh because I don't even drink coffee anymore, but my husband has some strong opinions concerning a good cup of hot java. He likes a bold bodied coffee with notes of Hazelnut. He drinks a French roast that smells heavenly, but since he drinks it black, it is like a cowboy coffee from the days on the trails.

I use ground coffee, so counting the beans is not an option, but your
post gives me a whole new bright and happy meaning for the term "bean counter." Maybe Mr. Coffee will put out a new version of its machine to hold and grind 60 beans. They could name it Beethoven.

Did you know Sis, my math is untidy when it comes to figuring things out. Your experiment encourages me to telk my wife to do exactly as you did. But I'm not sure whether she is going to do my bidding. Keeping fingers crossed. Will report to you how it went, Lol 😝

Good Morning
Wow! Now we know how to make the best cup of coffee. I would have never been able to figure all of this out. I just pour the water into the coffee pot and add some coffee and that's what we drink. Our pot makes 12 cups and I put 5 l/2 teaspoons of Folger's in the basket. It's good!
