An old scrap merchant saved me battery lead which I mixed with other lead procured
from goodness known where.I expect some of those old comic books would be quite
sort after now.I hope he made his fortune.

I suppose inflation is a never ending feature once it tales on. Yes Pat we used to find live bullets and chew the cordite within them, sweet hungry.

That's neat how you made toys. People are going to have to become more hands on and use their imaginations better in these times...Mum might be a buzzkill.

It seems the prices have gone up everywhere in this world -
I'm tempted to think it's a conspiracy amongst the merchants and manufactureres, that price gouging is a factor, but I don't want to be one of those conspiracy theory weirdo freaks. How dangerous to be melting lead - creative though.

Re: CCT
Goodness, I never knew anyone else beside my brother who melted lead in the back yard and made things out of it. That was in the 1940's. I never knew where he got the lead, don't think I ever asked. Another thing he did was traded comic books. He had an old small suitcase and he would carry it around to friends and swap the comics. He also had a thing going with Baseball cards out of bubblegum. Once he traded a stray cat for a bunch of comicbooks.

Good Afternoon
Our food prices are way up too! I'm thankful that years ago I learned how to make a whole meal with very few ingredients. Little did I know at the time that I would have to rely on that skill in times of need.

We grew turkeys for Christmas. Mother used to sell s few but mostly gave them to people who had very little money. not that we had much either but she was the kindest sweetest soul.

Good afternoon
Food prices are at their highest. A dozen of eggs and a bag of potatoes are each at $5.00 in our area. That is really high for my neck of the woods. We plan to make a spiral ham this year for Thanksgiving, and thankfully so. Turkey is only affordable to the wealthy. Hopefully, we get a grip on these high food prices. No need for people to starve.
