It's one of the downfalls of being available. Sometimes I leave my phone in the living room when I go to sleep, especially if it has been a rough day. You are very kind hearted.

Re: Kabu
Kabu, my friend... I would do that... but. Over the past year and a half, I have made a post like this three to four times a week. I personally wouldn't care if they shut FB down later this afternoon, but I use it to help people.
I made this post last night, and I almost immediately got a note from someone who needed help.
********
I'm watching the last episode of year 15 of the best medical television show ever, ER.
The title of the episode is "And In The End." It's bringing together much of the staff that had a regular position on the show over the years. The ER had been a zoo but gradually began to slow down to allow people to say their hellos and goodbyes. And in the end, the ER began to go crazy again.
I worked in the ER for years, and I know very well, that no matter what, the beat went on. Lives were saved and lives were lost and in the end, the ER kept on keeping on.
While the show had a few minor irregularities, it always found a way to hit me hard. It showed that there's not always a happy ending. Healthy people died unexpectedly. Critically ill patients lived unexpectedly.
During quiet times, the staff would play stupid games. The staff would fight and argue and fool around with each other. There would be bad times and good times.
You lost patients you had treated a dozen times and it hurt. You lost patients you had never seen before and it hurt.
There were times you wondered how you could come back to work after such a loss sometimes. The only answer I could ever find was to go home, take a shower, go to bed, and get up and do it again.
That's how you have to approach life. When you think you can't take it anymore, you rest, take a shower, and try again tomorrow.
If you are struggling, here am I. Email me. Message me. If you have my cell number, call me. 24/7/365. I will listen. I won't judge, but I will listen until the words run out.
I'm not a specialist, but I have seen and experienced a lot.
I will do my best to help.
Any time, any day. Here am I.
Good night.

Turn the phone off. Send all calls to voice mail or just don't answer it.
I made that decision years ago when I was really busy that I owned the phone, it doesn't own me. In today's World of always having the phone clsoe by we think we must answer each call or the sky will fall in. it won't but your time with Lisa and time to write are Yours. Make 'em wait.
