My sister lives in Omaha and they are very strict about their recycling since at least 20 years ago.

Re: Re: Sea Gypsy,

It works for me... but any of the previous links to flickr in my adventuring blog will probably take you right there.

Re:

That's so funny. I couldn't get the link to work but will try again.

That actually has been happening in Montreal area for a few years now. Unfortunately there are those who totally ignore recylcing efforts or suggestions, so I believe the authorities had to resort to trash auditing. It only takes a few to spoil the broth for all.

We don't have otters... just 'ratcoons'--so named by one of my grandkids: https://flic.kr/p/yUzYUS

CCT - Oops on Me...

Let's try this again. My iPhone predictor is awful and my eyes are worse.

"Same here but the cans are each labeled with house numbers and they (the trash company) can know who lives at each address with one click of their little hand-held electronic devices. We can't burn here - it's not safe 'cause of the wildfires." There. I hope it's readable now.

Re: Good Morning

Yep! You'd be on their list for a letter and citation and probably a fine later on. Me too.

Pat

I don't know exactly what is going on with this - it's beyond my sense of logic.

Re: TAPS

On so many levels there are things to dislike about trash. So true.

Sherri

Cali is #3 for rats in the nation. How disgusting is that? The bears here in the San Gabriel Valley open in the  the trash cans.

Re: FSI

It was such a great and golden state. Still is in many ways but this is too crazy for me!

Oh, yeah, that's money that is well spent. Some crazy things going on in California.

Good morning

That is seriously over the top. We always shred anything with our name on it before putting it in the trash bin. I heard on the news this morning that New York has issues with rats due to the piles of trash. Their tip is to make sure that your trash bags are secure so that animals don't go on the hunt for scraps.

I really, really dislike the trash plart of our lives...always have.  And, it just gets worse.

I understand they have cameras in the mechanical parts that

hoist and empty our bins to make sure we're not tossing construction materials in with our household waste, but a camera can't see inside a trash bag, according to someone who told me about this. It's all going to the landfill, and there are contractors hauling debris there, so what's the problem?

Good Morning

Wow!  What can I say??? I know that sometimes my family will throw away bottles in the regular garbage bag but I don't go through and check so I'm sure I would be in some sort of trouble.

We always tear off our name address etc. It is surprising though how much of this material adds up. I alway wait for a wet day and burn it quickly before the bonfire inspectors are informed.
