Be careful. That dust is hell on the lungs. You're right in that there isn't much point in cleaning it up because only more will follow. This will all be over soon and you will enjoy a lovely new kitchen.

I myself like renovations. I guess it's the guy in me. When our Location A undergoes it's renovations, I'll be checking it out a lot.

Good Morning
Kabu, I have a funny feeling if you weren't home things still wouldn't be getting done. I think as inconvenient as it is it will all be worth it in the end. I know it's hard living with all the dust and if there is too much maybe you could put on a mask to breathe. I like the idea of eating out over the next few weeks. At least you will be able to get away from the chaos for a few hours. I'm sending lots of good wishes your way for the new week. I'm not sure I should send your gnomes home with the contractors being there. What do you think?

Like Taps, don't like outsiders in my space, so have not hired a cleaner
although the place would no doubt be more sanitary if I did. I do NOT envy your coming week or so with hot & cold running contractors in the house. Noise and confusion, etc. I'm guessing Sir Graysome will be one unhappy kitty, too. Fingers crossed it all goes perfectly and turns out to be well worth the inconvenience.

Do you have an air purifier? If not, it could be well worth the investment! They are available for anywhere between ~$100 to much more and for various size spaces.
