It may be a bit - quite a bit - cooler on Monday & Tuesday for any long
drive or period of time outdoors. The middle of the country where you'd be crossing from south to north is the hottest, most humid it's been yet... Safe travels.

The only reason we are even considering this trip is for Lisa to say goodbye to her aunt. I have given thought to getting her an airline ticket, but it seems you can't bank on getting there, let alone taking off anymore.
If we do drive, we will rent a new car with good AC. I love driving, so it won't be an issue. Our current car is a survivor of seven UP winters, and it will be replaced after we make our last car payment in September.
