They don't make'em like they used to. That came to my mind...Those truly were the days.

Good Afternoon
It's so nice that you were able to repair the chest of drawers. Roy's good at putting things back together again. The bottom was coming apart on my kitchen drawer and he fixed it. It's too bad we have no idea how fast childhood goes by when we are living it. I can remember riding my bike all over the neighborhood. On a hot day, the breeze always felt good.

Repairing a chest of drawers, refinishing an old desk, fixing
things - it all rings familiar to me. Waste not, want not was my mother's motto, and sometimes it only took a bit of glue and some patient waiting to see new life in an old thing. Love the image of little kids trying to catch minnows in a shallow stream. What fun.

Childhood goes by before we recognize it as such. It is a real shame that we don't embrace it more while we still can.

Good afternoon
That is a good save. Those old relics deserve love and attention. I am currently restoring a dresser from the early 1900s that was destined for the garbage bin. I plan to give the beauty some new hardware and a coat of French blue chalk paint with a distressed look to add to the antique effect. I would love to find the skeleton key that once locked her two top drawers.
