Learning the alphabet by singing the song was fun for me, and I still
remember it 80 years later. It was also an advantage to have been a child before there was TV, when imagination brought stories and ideas born in the environment, in the family goings-on, the outdoor explorations and invented games with other kids.

And often it is the same story over and over again. They seem to fall in love with that one book, and don't you dare skip a page while reading it! You will be told!
