At my son's garage they got rid of the gas tanks completely, now only doing repairs and tires. Keeping the tanks was not worth the hassle.

I wonder how the owner operator makes any money if it all goes to the big companies. They really are bullies as far as I can tell.

Yes, it is a problem, in the olden days we would take a thousand gallons of paraffin pay for it and then sell hopefully at a profit, it is laughable really we never bothered to measure it much just filled the cans.

Re: Good Morning

You're correct about gas not being lucrative. It's a loss leader (using it to attract people to a car wash, auto mechanic, etc.).

Good morning

Something about that is amiss. The gas station has to receive some perks along the way considering that they deal with the upkeep of the gas lanes that include the fill trucks. I am guessing that the oil companies later reimburse the individual gas stations for their services.

Somehow that doesn't seem right.  Doesn't just about everyone pay by credit or debit?

Good Morning

FSI, I wonder how the Gas Stations stay in business?  I thought the profits from the stores inside of the gas stations would go to the station owners.  It doesn't seem very lucrative to me.
