Yes, one has to have a tree. My brother was fishing alone at the sea. He caught a monster eel. He did not know what to do with it so he dragged it to a pool, somehow it slipped off the hook. It freaked him out he was alone and the eel stood upright and kept watching him, he could not stand it and had to stop fishing.

Good afternoon
Egads! Those eels are ferocious. I caught one when I was about six on my fishing line at Port Mahon in Delaware. I screamed and yelled snake! I got a good ass whooping for making such a loud fuss because the adults said that I scared away the fish. I have never forgotten that experience.
