What surprised me...
was the overwhelming amount of animal abuse that occurs along with human abuse. I'd personally worry about someone who either abused animals or (like my former partner) seemed to prefer animals to humans at times.

Animal Abusers...
You make an excellent point. I have seen this happen with my friends who were abused. Sad, but true.
