I love history also. Isn't it so interesting? You are blessed that you have gotten to see so many places and do so nany things.

I have lived through a lot of history, studied much more of it. Interesting

to me because it is about people and adapting to change, etc... I have over the past couple of years learned there is much about Black History in America that was not taught in public schools - at least the ones I attended. Some discoveries I made in later years really ticked me off, but that's a topic for a whole blog one of these days.

History is my major, and I can relate to you. There is so much great history to learn out there. I wish I had several lifetimes for it all.

Good Morning

I love History and English.  If I was going to pick one I would probably say English.

You do have many interests. Amazing really. I was amused,  a lady came from

Denmark. Her husband is from a local village near here. He was certain he was pure

English.  He took a test and was surprised he was 60 per cent Danish. I suppose it is

good to mix the genes.

You and me both! History buffs, that is. I have made a study of English history from the Plantagenets through the Tudors, and am fascinated by the histories rarely mentioned let alone taught in US schools below college level: Asian histories and Russian, Greenland, ancient Ireland, the Renaissance and its personalities... So many books on my shelves!

Do you have a favorite historian whom you read?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Distant_Mirror Barbara Tuchman is a very keen observer and analyst of history, very readable!

Good afternoon

History and genealogy are two of my favorite subjects too. I also love National Geographic magazine. They feature some of the most amazing photography that I have ever seen. Once I discovered that I was 72% British, my mind became set on the fact that I need to somehow make a trip to England. The COVID has made that an impossibility for now. I can only pray that I will make the trip across the pond before I am too old to successfully do so. Crossing my fingers.
