It makes sense that it is the weather that dictates how business does on Veterans Day. It's just not observed as much as it used to be, I think.

Actually in Australia it has never been a holiday. Dawn services to remember the war dead and two minutes silence when schools and traffic and shopping etc stop to remember the sacrifices made for their safety in years gone by.

Good afternoon

How intuitive you are. We both have to work on Thanksgiving. I am still preparing a spiral ham and stuffing that I will take as my contribution to our family holiday meal that will be held at my middle daughter's house. Unfortunately, I will be going alone. John's hours that day dictate that he will miss the feast. I guess that this is why they made bowls, plates, foil, and plastic wrap for leftovers.

Good Morning

FSI, we did have parades but I know a lot of people did work.  I know my daughter still had to work and so did my sons.  There was no mail and the banks were closed.  I really enjoyed everyone's posts on honoring the special Veterans in their lives on Facebook.
