You could contact a local church or scouts group for volunteers to help with the planting. I know when I worked for a particular insurance company, we went out into the community and did beautification projects, halloween parties for abused children etc.

Good Morning
Kabu, I love rocks! I hope you share a picture because it sounds awesome. It's so kind of your housemate to buy you something that he knows means a lot to you. I've been collecting rocks for what seems like ever. I have smaller ones on my mantel over the fireplace and I have some on my window sill in the kitchen. Everybody knows I love rocks. I bought some small rocks a couple summers ago and had the kids paint them. It was so much fun. Now that I'm thinking about this I should get some more rocks to paint. I love big rocks in the garden, too. I've got a couple stone frogs who
have hunkered down next to one, and a carved hummingbird suspended from a cane hovers near by. They make the place feel happy.

I bet that your granite rock is really cool. I know that they are a beloved countertop choice in many homes. I have been plating more flowers and herbs in pots, but I still use my raised beds. I am not fond of getting down on my knees since I am finding it harder to get back up.
