I suppose looking at it clinically, it was better to be slaughtered in the sty than being hauled and prodded on the way to a similar end. I expect one day we will look back and wonder.

Good afternoon
A pig is a much more attractive meal than that of a sheep's eye. My stomach is flipping and flopping just thinking about it.

Yes, one does tend to kind of bond with certain animals.
It was tough when one had made a pet of a pig.

Those were the days...My grandmother did some growing up on a farm. She got attached to the animals.

I feel a world of sympathy for the pig - I've known pigs who ended up
slaughtered at the farmer's hand. But also for Billy, who could not help becoming attached to the creature.
