Of course really Pat one should think would I be happy with this person in twenty years time.  Sexual attraction is not real love but it makes one giddy.

Re: .

Yes, maybe there are not many ugly women around these days. If we all looked like monkeys some would be thought beautiful.

Re: Ciel

A lot of things in Jane Austin that are relevant today. Also, I suppose some men are dependent on their wives these days.

Re: Goldiec

I think part of the problem might be that attraction is not enough one has to feel deeply.

No the lure of wealth might be a motive, but one would never be true to oneself.

Well that's a plain truth, plainly told.... true love and money together are great but they hardly coexist ❣️

Good Morning

I'm forever the romantic.  I think love is what makes the world go round.  I think looks are important in the eye of the beholder.  To marry and then have someone on the side is not good for a marriage.  Money needs to take a backseat to love.

Often, moving on is the best thing to do.

Time to read a little Jane Austen, and properly appreciate a society that makes women dependent on men, and men with fat pocktbooks ever the target of hopeful mothers and brides!

Prosperity has trumped looks in many a case.

Back during the Victorian era, men would marry an ugly woman if she had a large dowry and then carry on with the attractive female maids. Of course, extra helpings and dumplings do sweeten the deal a bit.

Uncle Albert was a catch, whether he he knew it or not. He had

a way of looking realistically at human transactions, rather than cloak them with romantic wishery.
