I did what I had to do and then lay down. I was more tired than I thought as I just woke up.
Pat, because Lisa and I were both ER RN's, we knew that the end of the train ride can come at any time without any warning. At first, our talks were to allow Lisa to unload her thoughts, fears, and worries, but as those things began to slow down, we began to talk to one another about ourselves, a kind of 'truth or dare' type thing. We have yet to find a time where we didn't know what to do or say.
Lisa had been in relationships meant that she bowed to the 'man' in her life and did as she was told. It was nice to begin to talk to each other as all husband and wives should do, unafraid of the response to a question. We spend a lot of time laughing at and with each other. I look forward to her coming home and we return to those talks again.

You need to plenty of rest. You need to be at your best to help her through this. God bless both of you and may the angels help heal Lisa and give you the strength you need to help her.
