It’s very strange.

It is incredible that it had been sinking for years. Something tragic was going to happen. it isn't Ostrich's that put their head in the sand or look the other way. I am so sorry for all the suffering and loss of life.

It is just so unheard of when you think about it.

The structure had to have had some serious issues to just fold like a deck of cards. Any chance of surviving under all of that heavy cement is almost zero. I pray that no one suffered.

Re: Sea Gypsy

Bill, it’s so sad. I know it had been sinking but watching the video reminds me of planned implosions i’ve see on tv. What a tragedy.

Re: CCT

My thoughts also. When you watch it implode, it does seem hard to believe what you are watching. Thank you.

It almost seems impossible for a building to collapse just like that. What a nightmare for all those involved. Poor souls.

I saw that on the news. So sad, indeed.

Sea Gypsy

Over 150 found, at least one one to three confirmed deaths. Weight from construction on the roof, explosion, or a sinkhole are some of the possible causes mentioned. However, the mayor and most officials, it's mystery. It's natural for buildings to sink a couple inches.

That story scared the hell out of me.

Just the thought of being buried under tons of rubble, alive but trapped, is enough to get me running out to the middle of an open field.  Terrible for all those not accounted for, and especially for their families who don't know.  I'm wondering if the failure happened because of the near sea-level elevation and maybe the unstable or insufficient bedrock to support the weight of such tall buildings. Living at a beachfront may not be the ideal after all.
