Years ago my mother told me that an old gardener said he one give her a penny for every Bumblebee she caught. She had a jam jar and a piece of card and managed to catch two. He wanted them to put in his greenhouse to pollinate the grapevines.
Yes it is a problem still with the virus, one has to weigh things up sensibly.

It seems a bit complicated to travel between the great north of Canada
to the great south of Australia when you have to pack for the totally opposite season in each place - even when travel is not restricted as it is now. We're so accustomed to planning for snow at Christmastime here - and in England where so many Aussies originated from. It must be high season for cookouts and swimming when Santa flies into Wagga Wagga and other places there. One soon day, when nearly everyone is vaccinated, maybe the travel quarantines may be relaxed and you can hug those grandkids who are growing up so fast. I think bumblebees and honeybees can sense that you are a friend to them.
