Kentucky is almost 100% contained...

Re:Pat

Yes Pat it is probably something we may have to live with. Hopefully, it will die out, eventually. I remember one lad who kicked the soil back over the potatoes that he could not manage to pick up before the tractor came around again.

Re:Goldiec

We were only kids we could hardly carry the buckets. I don't think many children would volunteer these days.

Re: Kabu

I think we were fairly quick of the mark, but most wear masks in shops. Be careful until you get your second jab. Well always be careful, it is the new way of life.

Re: FS

Good luck I hope you don't get a different variant. Perhaps it will be under control.

Re: Annicita

A lot of it is mechanically harvested now I expect.

Picking fruits and vegetables is difficult. My mom told me about doing it when she was growing up.

We're doing well with the vaccine in Maryland. Things have really opened up.

pretty sure that if one has had both shots they will only get a slight dose of a variant. We will probably still have to get a Booster shot before this is done with. Ontario where I live still can't keep up with the numbers of people needing vaccinations.I get my second dose at the last day of June!

Good Afternoon

I hope our shots will handle whatever comes along but I'm not really sure.  As far as picking potatoes that's what I call a hard day's work.

I hope your Covid jab will handle the variant - (mine, too).

I can just see those poor muddy little potato harvesters dragging along with their gunny sacks full of the heavy things. Lucky they're so tasty or some would be tempted to leave 'em in the ground.
