I salute them too and I also salute my Dad who helped two brothers like these from the same country, Italy, to make their way in Australia.

This is a wonderful tribute to some strong and proud people.
Coming to a foreign place and not knowing what to expect or how to ask for help had to be a bitter pill to swallow. They stuck together and paved a road to success after they figured it out. And yes, judging people is harsh when you have no clue as to what they have been through or currently dealing with.

I would think the passage on the boat was pretty tough. Amazing how folk from all over came to the USA. It was very often one step up from starvation

America needs variety and color, different flavors and music.
We'd be so much less interesting without all the immigrant food, music, books, etc.

Re: Annicita
Indeed they are. It was so difficult for so many of them.

Immigrants are the salt of the earth. So many of them not only prospered but started financial empires.

Goldie. Terrified, I would think.
Thank you, Goldie. I will try to catch up to everyone later.

Good Evening
I simply cannot imagine how they felt in a strange land. Life was hard but they had an inner strength and they survived. God Bless them!
