- Go to A run in with a bear?????
Once in a blue moon, somewhere in my area has a bear sighting. Thankfully, I have never come across one out in the wild.

They are pretty, but kept at a distance for me.
We too have the foxes and raccoons, but I have only seen a bear at the zoo and once when we traveled to West Virginia. They could easily harm a human, so I will respect them and keep my distance.

My closest experience was staying in the Poconos. I enjoyed two gray foxes.

I had never heard of a fisher before. Thank you for your post telling us about your wild creatures and how nicely you live in harmony with all of them. How very beautiful Camelot North must be!

Happy Spring
Kabu, I loved this post! Thank you so much for sharing it. The thought of a 9ft. bear is more than what I could take. I'm glad you don't go outside after dark. Is that when they wander around? Thankfully you are safe in the house if they should be anywhere close to your home. Is Wiley from Canada or did he move there? I have a friend that lives in Canada and they don't seem to mind the cold at all. We've had a beautiful day in the '60s with lots of sun. We opened a window for a little fresh air in the house. Our deer got their treats today. It's been so cold that we were waiting for a warm day. I hope you are enjoying your day. I made corn beef with cabbage, potatoes, and carrots. I just called my neighbor on the one side of us and told him I made something that wasn't good for him but he could have some if he would like it. Then I told him what it was and he really wanted it. I'm going to make him up a dish in a few minutes. I can only eat a little of this because it's very rich. I always share with my neighbors.

My older sis and her family took a camping vacation in Yellowstone Park
and other places when her kids were small - probably 75 years ago. At one point she walked alone along a path and came face to face with a bear. It was 25 or 30 feet away. She shrieked and the bear did the same, and then both of them turned and ran away from one another. I was 12 or 13 years old when she told us the story. We were always on the alert for bears in the summer when we went blackberrying in the wild areas around our little town.
