I remember my mother taking my sister and me to a local cemetary where we would feed the ducks there. The ducks going up to my sister scared her so much. She fears ducks to this day.

I just enjoyed this entire post. I love hearing about you and Trish and your conversations, and it's great she helps clean the house and to view the living art in your yard must be such fun and a blessing. She is an angel for an angel!

Kabu

That bossy squirrel sounds like Jumpin' Jack the squirrel in the park at the bus stop, took a bus to your yard.

My old neighbor used to set up an ear of dried field corn on a

nail that he had filed the flat head into a point on top of a 2 x 4, so squirrels could climb up on it and eat the corn, but couldn't drag it away and bury it. He loved watching them. Trish makes me very happy.

I'm so happy you have Trish to keep you company if only just once a week. Stay warm and safe dear friend.

Re: They are eating it like there will be nothing for them tomorrow.

It is a bag of mixed seeds large and small.

That bag of food will keep all of the the wildlife very happy. I buy a nice blend of bird food that includes corn, sunflower seeds, and fruit. I also give them nuts, bread, and mealworms. They are fat and happy.
