Years ago I watched an Australian tv show that was set along the Murray and its tributaries. It was about the people who live on the rivers. I don't remember the name of it, but I remember I liked it!

Oh wow, I am stunned at just how much it looks like our area. We live along the river, and we have the Pittsburgh bridges that cross three rivers.
This is the Monongahela River. We live in a borough that sits next to it. The similarity is amazing.

I didn't know about the Murray river - although I did know there are
not enough of them in Australia. I'll never forget the first time I saw the Mississippi. Out in Washington & Oregon, the rivers are fed by glaciers and snow run-offs, or are connected to the Pacific - they are all clean and clear. The Mississippi is pure mud in all the parts I've seen, and I was shocked that fish could even live in it. Lots of 'em do.
