I love reading about your early life . I know you went on to higher things. I still use the famous blankets Strange how things change fortunes.

That's cool how you got so advanced at math. I know that those who figured out the math thing quicker did very well in school overall.

Good Morning and Happy Monday

Kabu, I love reading about your memories of growing up and the things you experienced.  The fact that you were reading at such a young age tells me you had a wonderful childhood.  I loved reading too.  I remember the first time I went to the Library and saw all the books.  To me, it was the best place ever.  I couldn't believe there was such a wonderful place in the world.  I always thought my favorite job would be working in a book store surrounded by books.  A lot of our book stores have closed but our Library is opening back up today but we will have to wear a mask.

Oh, how wonderful! Yes, I can picture you learning because my sister learned everything that I did when I did, and she's two years younger than I. What a great childhood and fun. Good post.

I think they've discovered the age of 3-5 is when your brain works

the most effectively, you learn faster and retain more - also at the age of 17. I don't know why I remember this, but I have done some reading on psychology and intelligence, etc. - probably started with a required course when grandma went to college. I notice kids of that age are unusually observant and curious - and when my younger girl was 4 she had the most amazing stories to tell me. You were no doubt a joy to your mother.

Those are some great memories.

You learned to read rather early. That is why you are such a smarty pants today. Times tables were my favorite math lesson. For whatever reason, they were easy for me. Fractions, not so much.
