- Go to Pat B has made me think back to my own childhood.
Well my dear, you must have learned something since you did become a nurse!

It's nice to see the family aspect where all the kids liked and enjoyed one another's company. Lovely times.

I suppose it was similar to the village school that my mother attended. She said when the cider men came picking up apples and crushing them very often the kids would get a drink of the juice and later on in class begin to turn off color and had to rush out to the ancient privy.

Your childhood is one that I am envious of as far as community goes.
You grew up with the same people all of your life. I love that. I was never in one place long enough to really know anyone for very long. I too rode my bicycle to school off and on as I got older, but I attended ten different schools due to moving so much. Like you, I also loved reading and writing.

Thanks for kind words, Kabu. I actually spent my 7th grade school year
on a farm - along with my kid brother and sister - so there's a basis in fact to some parts of the story.

Kabu, I was just like you growing up. I wanted to read books and write stories. What was it like growing up in Australia? Did you see all kinds of different animals when you were riding your bike to school? In Elementary school, we lived a few blocks from school and we walked to and from school. Back then we walked home for lunch too. Schools are different now and since COVID they are really different.

What a delightful childhood you had! I think your schooling must have been wonderful and it's great to have your cousins in the school with you. Great memories you have shared. Thank you.
