Do you know Kabu I have the same problem we have 4 different bins and I think a lot of folk just chuck stuff in that cannot be recycled. If in doubt I do ring the council

Old shoes. well they are incinerated, thankfully we get charity firms asking for clothes.

Also clothing I should not think they would go to far too collect though.

It works for him, for the time being.

It seems like every municipality, plus residential communities, plus commercial areas, all have different recycling rules. It's all very complex.

Yeah, musicians are like

birds in a cage through these pandemic times. Not many chances to cheer up people, or cheer up themselves.

Some musicians might even get depressed while not being able to do what they love to do.

I love musicians.  They bring such pleasure and joy to people.  You would think that during this pandemic musicians would be needed in some way more than ever.

Re: About the recycling - we have to try to be good world citizens,

No Halo here though Pat. Yes I recycle and I believe in it but when it comes to needing a PHD to get it right and then you finsd Canad sends most of their recycling to the Philippines, who are inundated with it all... I think it is a con to make us feel better.

About the recycling - we have to try to be good world citizens,

even though there's the occasional news story that not much of the recycling we save is actually reused, but goes into landfills, etc... I just wish rhey could be a little better in the commercial world about waste-not, want-not and tell us grannies the truth of it all. I admire you for making the effort.

Recycling at it's best

Kabu, I had to smile when I read your post.  When it comes to our recycling we have a large light green container but only certain things can go in there.  Then there's our regular garbage can and we have to remember to put our styrofoam in there because recycling doesn't want it. All our paper products have to go in a box to be driven to City Hall and dropped off in a special recycling bin.  If we have oil we have to drive it back to the store and they dispose of it.  Our aluminum cans go to a special place and they give us a few cents for them.  If we forget any of these rules and our neighbors do too then we all get a letter saying we need to try harder.  If our shampoo bottles have any shampoo in them we have to throw them away because they could contaminate the recycling machine.  I do not remember my Grandma going through all this to throw something away.  Oh and every now and then they will send us out a reminder that we really should try new ways to use items and never discard them.  We live in a crazy world.
