- Go to Where have all my Crows Gone???
Hopefully, the crows will return. Sadly, the neighbor hypothesis looks like it has some legs.

Kabu

A raven and the flock of crows it hung around ate the corn kernels I put in a birdfeeder once; the crows that succeded it never took the smaller birds' seed again, and never resided my garden. They've only followed me since. Did they adopt me into their flock? Of course, the raven was succeded by Calvin Crow in the lineage.
It's funny my first response on the corn feed raid was to throw a twig up in the sky, at the raven.

Kabu, I hope your crows come home. I know they find you delightful.

Fascinating
Reading about the way it uses to be between the crows and you, sounds fascinating.
The part where you tell about you singing a phrase and the crows start singing the same phrase afterward... It kind of reminds me of "Snowwhite and the seven dwarfs" (or was it "Cinderella"?)

We have quite a large group of crows.
Maybe your guys are here visiting us in Pittsburgh. We give them plenty of scraps. I will let them know that you are looking for them.

Perhaps they flew south for the winter.
I watched a series on PBS - might have originated on the BBC - about a study of crows, and how they can recognize people's faces, and actually teach one another about the people in their environment. When I lived in Seattle there was a crow who announced my presence any time I left the house in the morning to catch the bus. I hope your murder of crows comes back soon.
