The woods is a wonderful thing. I've always had one near me, and wandered often to see what I could see. I used to get out in the night to make the first footprints on the new fallen snow, back in the days one felt safe doing that.

I know it's beautiful there in winter, but I'm looking forward to the
stories of spring when the gnomes are up and at 'em again and the birds sing in your garden. Even though I couldn't wait to get out of there when I lived in the little house at the edge of the woods, there are times I long to be wandering along the deer trail and just sitting at the foot of a tree and listening to the sounds of nature, the sight of birds flitting among the high branches, squirrels chittering, etc.

We are enjoying a sunny Saturday as well. Love that bunny.
Our snow has been gone for a week now. It is still a bit chilly, but warm enough for a light jacket versus a heavy winter coat. I also enjoy watching the many animals that trek through our yard from the window. They are always searching for seeds and the many treats that I leave them.

Kabu, this is such a pleasant way to spend a day. We are always looking outside to see what our visitors are up to. Our birdseed wreath is long gone. The birds ate every morsel. Roy still feeds the birds but I miss watching them nibble on the wreath. There was a deer near the garden and Roy's afraid that they will try to get into the garden this spring. We have a fence around it but I'm sure if they really wanted to get in they would find a way.
