Yes, fairies are gentle folk who are the happy dwellers of unseen lands so they of course would be the peacekeepers. What a great story you have written!

The fairies are always on their best behavior.
They do keep peace in the garden despite what the gnomes, wizards, and other creatures are up to.

excellent solution to some tricky problems. Nothing wrong with a bit of bribery when one is desperate. BTW she still does ride her broom in nice weather. She bought a nice new one with a motor which makes things easier.
