Yes, it’s a “Me First“ mentality. It doesn’t have to be that way. It’s greed, too. Survival instinct gone wild!

sassy - there had been none!
It is very unsettling. Like stories I had heard as a child of Third World Countries.

There are some states in lockdown again. So, as usual, paranoia takes over. People just buying up anything and everything they think they might need within the next 3 to 6 months.

I love how the right window coverings embellish a room.
As for those shortages, it is becoming a really big deal here lately. I never thought that I see something so scary, but here we are.

I don't think it is so bad as that here, although someone told me that Oxford has applied for Shut Down. I suppose some firms just cannot keep going.

Panic buying still seems to be all the rage these days. I'll be glad when supply chains return to normal.

Sea Gypsy

There's a Target across the street where I work. There's a trend in the city, where I live. There are small stores, selling low price drapes, curtains, and the like. One put in it's name "Department Store."

Re: Kabu
That is what my daughter has been doing for about 6 weeks. Little by little. A good idea, Kabu.
The drapes are a lighter weight, white linen (I try to keep the inside organic (allergies). I wanted semi-opaque for when the winter sun blasts through, but mostly for at night. Someone behind us trimmed trees and now if anyone goes by in a high vehicle like a truck or a SUV, they can see in - even what’s on TV in the living room!

Re: Re: Goldiec
Thanks, I am curious to know how things are there. Good, I hope. Anyone else experiencing shortages?

Re: Goldiec
Sea Gypsy, when I go to the store I'm going to check the shelves and I will let you know how it is around here.

Hopefully, it's just around here, and maybe just a glitch at one particular Target store. Forewarned is forearmed, as they say!

Pat
Thanks, Pat! After five years it's time to put something on the windows in the living room. It's at the back of the house and usually no one can see in.

Needed supplies
Sea Gypsy, this makes me uncomfortable! I hope we don't go back to the way it was in March. I really do have to go out and try to get supplies. We are almost out of paper towels. Thank you so much for this update. I'm glad you got the drapes you were looking for.

New drapes/curtains will make the room feel new again.
Keep on keepin' on!
