I can see the woman sitting, hands folded and smiling.

Perhaps in her mind she was seeing her children having fun or bringing her a love gift -  flower they swiped from the neighbor's garden.

what a beautiful Ode to your Mother. Times were difficult for people who lived their best years through the first half of the 20th century. World warsm depression, jobs hard to get. Strices for unfair wages and a woman was expected to know her place and to stay in it.

Such a sweet lady must have lived a hard life, yet overcame it.

You have portrayed her in the best way possible despite her many woes through life. As we age, we can at times become rather fragile.
